Your engine may burn fuel and oxygen to generate its power, but it can't do that on its own. It needs spark plugs to start the process. So, how do they work? Turn a key in your ignition. Your ignition switch triggers, and ignition parts like your battery, starter motor, solenoid, and ignition coil work together to send an electrical charge to the plugs' leads. When it reaches them, the air and gas inside your engine combust. That releases power. Your engine pistons, crankshaft, and the many other parts that move your Hyundai get going, and so do you. Without OEM spark plugs, though, no Hyundai could start at all. To make things worse, they go bad sooner or later. For one, their leads can decay. If they widen far enough, it can weaken a charge to insignificance. A bad spark plug can result in engine misfires or a complete shutdown. A broken spark plug, on the other hand, is extremely dangerous to an engine: it usually damages the cylinders. Luckily, the spark plugs made by Hyundai today are built to last millions of ignitions, for up to 100,000 miles. Just be sure to replace any that are near their recommended mileage limit. What spark plugs do I need, you ask? That depends on your model. Genuine ones work best either way. That's because Hyundai vehicles and auto parts are designed alongside one another, to work with one another. You can buy spark plugs online, too, right here at our auto parts store.
